Shankara Math at Kalady

Actually in about a kilometer from Vijaya sthambam monument built by Kerala tourism, there is a separate temple of Sri Sharadha peeta sankara matt where it is clearly given, that, that is the place where Sri Adi Sankara started his spiritual activities first and that is His birth place. Further in that place only Sri Adi Sankaracharya's mother's samadhi is also there. There is Saptha madars (Sapta kannigaigal) sannidhi which one can have darshan, Adi sankara sannidhi and photos as to how He has taken over Sanniyas etc. This temple is open up to 12.30pm. Further there is a krishna temple nearby, which also should be visited before 12.30 pm time of closing. Both these two temples are very near to Kochi airport hardly 5 kms distance. So You can visit them when you go to the airport. Only thing keep at least two hours time for this temple. We visited on 28-3-2015 (saturday) before going over to the airport after coming from Triparayar, Koodalamanikkam temple etc. All should see this temple to know about our advita principle.
